Always an “outside the box” thinker, Stan has been a long-time proponent of diversity in franchising. That work began at Blimpie, when he created an Urban Expansion initiative heralded by the media and leaders of the public and private sectors. This culminated in a White House visit, where he and BLIMPIE Founder Tony Conza, personally participated in the President’s “Conference for Community Empowerment.” Later that year, this program was celebrated as Blimpie International’s Innovation of the Year.
In further recognition of his work in diversity, Stan proudly accepted the (IFA) International Franchise Association’s Ronald E. Harrison Diversity Award in 2010, an honor only bestowed six times previously, in The IFA’s 50+year history. Stan’s current work in diversity focuses on pro-athletes and their transition from playbooks to Ops Manuals. He and 7 year NFL veteran Michael Stone, do so through (PAFI) The Professional Athlete Franchise Initiative, a program the two jointly created.
Stan serves on the (IFA) Supplier Board, is a founding member of the (IFA) Diversity Institute. Calling Atlanta home for 28 years, Stan also serves on the board of the Southeast Franchise Forum.
Paul Segreto is a recognized entrepreneur, franchise & small business professional. His expertise includes startups & turnarounds, strategic planning, business & franchise development, branding, social media and digital marketing with primary focus on restaurants and service-driven businesses.
